12 of November 2013

Two days ago, on a whim, I decided to participate in NaNoWriMo. That’s National Novel Writing Month. I’m at a massive disadvantage with my competition, having lost ten days of work, but hopefully I’ll be able to recover that lost time by putting in extra hours towards my novel. I wanted to write about something that would express my theories on the crumbling modern society, so I chose to take a George Orwell-like approach, just less sic-fi. My novel is going to be told through two alternating perspectives in the past, present, and future. A school desk and a vanity desk narrate their life through interactions with humans and the time when no humans are around. During the period when they are to themselves, the two desks, in different circumstances and seemingly different worlds, reflect on the mistakes of mankind. Wish me luck friends- I’m 3 1/2 pages down, 122 1/2 to go! Stay tuned, I’ll be MIA for the rest of November most likely… except for the casual update on my progress.
